Plan B

My church meets in a movie theater. So, sometimes, things happen that are completely out of our control. This morning, I showed up for work at my usual time, 7:30 a.m. I was so excited. We were going to start a new series, and I was anxious to put our new set together. But, as soon as I walked in the door, I noticed something was wrong. There were no lights. Think of how dark a movie theater is when the movie is playing. Well, now imagine it that dark, without the movie.

Anyway, it was business as usual for us. We had to set up the four theaters we use for our children's ministry, in total darkness. It took us an extra hour, but we did it. FPL informed us there was no way they could have the power going by 10:00, so we came up with a plan B. We quickly brought in 3 generators to power up the main theater and the cafe. All of the kids (close to 100) went into the adult service. It was actually kind of nice.

Sometimes, we grudgingly have to go with a plan B, only to find out it's not so bad after all. When in your life have you been pleasantly surprised by a plan B.

Plan A was to stay in the house for Hurricane Katrina.

Plan B was to go to the shelter on base.

Plan B was what we ended up doing. Plan B seemed to work out good, Since we had 4 feet of water in the house and there were 100+ mph winds outside.

I am SO glad you guys went with plan b. After our visit, I realized how bad it got over there. Pictures don't really tell the whole story.

Plan A, stay in Miami in our crowded 2/2 townhome (cause we wanted to raise our own children). Plan B was to move to Mount Dora buy a 3/2,2 corner house for the same price, plus be able to stay home for the next 6 years.

Plan B worked that time too.
