Labor Day
Labor Day was created to give a day off to the working man. In honor of that, tell us some of the crazy jobs or things you've had to do at jobs that you've really needed a day off from.
hmmm let's see... One the days I can remember needing a day off was in the middle east desert in 2002... 138 degrees and we were in full chemical warfare suits, masks, gloves, booties, kevlar helmets and flak jackets and all... in a bunker The heat was sweltering, it was dark and oh yeah, there were about 30 of us in this little bunker/bomb shelter. I was thinking.. wow, this sucks. Why am I here doing this crap? not for the hostile fire pay or the imminent danger pay or the tax-free benifits on my pay check or for the family seperation allowance. It wasn't for the beuatiful view of the hot desert sands and scorpions. But for freedom. It's my duty to my country. That was my job. That's what I do. But now I have done my duty for my country, I have served for 20 years. I am now retired. Now is my time off. Was it worth it? Yeah.
I used to work in McDonalds as a STaR. Now, my job wasn't so bad. I had to plan the parties and activities at schools. But my sister...although she was my manager, she had to dress in the Birdie costume and do the Hokey Pokey in the summer heat. Now that sucked!
