Happiness is only a retirement away
What will you do when you retire?
....hmmm I'm submitting retirement paperwork today. So Nov 1st I will be retired.
Hey Tim...Congratulations! I know from my husband's experience what a difficult decision leaving the military can be. I am sure whatever you decide to you you'll be successful. As for me, all I want for retirement is a condo in South Florida half the year. Yup, I wanna be a snowbird! I can decide on all the rest of the pesky details later :)
Well, Yes I did submit the application to retire this past friday. My mind is made up. I always wanted to retire when I was ready, but something has come up that, well... I am sort of forced to make a decision. Fortunately, I do have enough time in that I can choose to retire. It basically comes down to either taking an assignment that I don't really want or retire. No if's and's or but's. But it looks like I will be taking all my leave I have saved over the years...almost 100 days of "vacation" in which to find a job. But I draw full pay until Nov., then it gets cut down to my reitrement pay...ouch. Lots of planning to do and figuring "stuff out" For stability I think we will stay put here for now.

I am so jealous, Tim. Of course, I will be here in South Florida, no snow for me!
