How "Important" is it to you?

Recently we received an advertisement for digital cable that stated "Connecting you to what's important in your life". I freaked out when I read it! "important", TV-to us, NO WAY! specially all those hundreds of channels. I don't get it. We live without cable, digital or whatever, satellite or any other kind of "special" television connection; our TV connection isn't the greatest (we get some local channels) and to be honest with you--we don't miss it. I recently asked my kids if they do and they said "not really". They hate all the commercials. We do, on the other hand, have a nice DVD and video collection (we get to watch what we want, when we want).

So, my question to you is...How important is television to you and your family and what do you like to watch?

tv, is not that important to me, but there are some things we enjoy watching. The "boys" can't live without all of their sports channels. They seem to be on all of the time.

That's funny Tim, I sometimes watch at night for the same reason---the comatose, blank brain feeling.

I totally know what you mean, Eric, when you're out of town. I used to veg. out in front of the tv too. But now, I just have my playlists ready and my internet access.

it's cool to read your comments. now, i know there are some out there that are addicted... or at least addicted to some programming???

I cannot go to sleep w/o my glimpse at the Legend, David Letterman.<---does he qualify for that title, I've been watching him since Jr. High. He gives me that comatose, blank brain feeling that I need at night--when I'm not chatting of course :)
