Dominic was born with something called a "Dandy-Walker Cyst". It was found through an ultrasound I had when I was 16 weeks pregnant. Went to specialists and had ultrasounds every 4 weeks to check for growth, pressure in his brain (that's where the cysts were located) and any other abnormalities. He had 2 cysts, one of which was resolved (not there) on his 3rd year MRI.

So, needless to say, we prepared--we prepared for the worst and were blessed with our Dominic. He's one of the family and gets treated as such, just needs alittle help here and there. I'm not one for long stories, so i'll give you the short version... (yeah, right)

The first 3 years of his life we spent seeing specialists; neurologist; eye surgeries; ears, nose and throat specialist (4-5 sets of tubs-lost count) commuting lots of miles to Orlando. Physical, occupational and speech therapy since he was 6 months continue, luckly they provide home service.

He started school when he was 3 and is now in a school for special needs children. Amazing school-amazing people. He gets all the attension, hugs and discipline he needs (small classes 6-8 students per teacher and 2 assistants). And we have all the resourses we need.

Socially he's know and loved by everyone, gives great hi 5s, hugs and kisses . He loves baseball, watching and playing. He loves movies, he knows how to use the vcr and dvd, he has concured how to watch 2 movies at once. He loves music-of course- banging on the drums, strummin the guitar, and banging his head to AC/DC.

He's got his own pace and his own personality, not to mention his own little attitude!

He's a cool kid and has taught us alot---specially to stop and smell the roses or whatever flower he spots. "Who knows what the future brings..."

Thanks for listening. We have no problem answering any questions. So please...don't be shy.
