Just who are YOU?

What did you want to be when you grew up? Are you that now? Did you become something totally different from what you had in mind?

That's awesome Lisa. I wanted to be two things when I was little-a teacher and a DJ! Yes, that's true. Back then though, there really weren't any female DJ's, so I focused on the teacher part. I was a teacher for almost 14 years. I loved every minute of it. I liked the hours, which were the same ones as my kids. I liked the breaks, and I just enjoyed teaching. Last November I was offered a position running the Family Ministry at my church, Calvary Fellowship in Miami Lakes, and I went for it. I'm loving this too. As for the DJ thing...everyone is constantly asking me to make them CD's and run the music at parties, so I guess I'm living that dream too.

thanks Debbie,
I think He does that for each of us. I remember you talking about becoming a cop all the time, and when I found out you were, I was so happy for you. 6 more years?! Sweet.

It's great to hear that so many of you have followed your dreams, and have reached your goals. I have to say that I am nowhere close. Except for one thing, and that was getting us all back together again! I think that was the most important!

Hey! Here I am I just figured out how to use this thing!! I am happily married for 10 years and have 3 beautiful children. I married my infatuation crush I had with Katherine in 1986. 10 years later married and 10 years after that 3 children Lucas, Joshua, Nick. I sell and design custom cabinetry for the home. I own Kitchen Center, Inc. in the Miami Design District. Everything else is going well I live in East Hollywood near North Lake. That’s it my part, remember my wigs and fluorescent clothing. What happened to those days! I wish they were back!

Who am I?? Hmmmmmmm, that is a loaded question! But as far as what I do, well can't y'all see the halo glowing above my head?? ::haloshake:: Nah, seriously, I'm a part-time secretary at a local church. Okokok, hold on a second, that does NOT mean that I am a "church lady"...I am simply a chickie trying to make a buck while still getting in some "face time" with her kids. It's a great job and the pastor listens to AC/DC...can't get much cooler than that!

Well Kara...isn't that speeeeecccial!

First your blog intro has assumed I grew up ;>

I am in software sales mostly around bay area startups but have worked for a few large companies like PeopleSoft, Ariba, and recently was at a 70 person startup that had just been acquired by HP (as in Hewlett Packard). Hmmmm, so 70 person startup to a 150,000 person monster - life has changed recently!

Travel extensively (3-4 days a week) as my territory appears to be planet Earth, but primarily focused on the US and manage a team of technical sales folks who help me cover the world.

No, not what I intended when I grew up, I had always invisioned myself as an official beer testing/quality control official or the guy who uses the make-up brush to "dust off" the sand from the super models "bum" when they're out shooting on the beach...

During my stint in the Army I found myself and decided I wanted to be in foreign affairs. After graduating from college Iwas fortunate enough to be accepted into the Foreign Service. But life is funny;after 7 years of living the "diplomatic life" I got bored with it. Ipacked up the family came back to the states got an MBA and now I'm a banker at Lehman Brothers.

It has been a journey!

what a journey! But, it sounds like a nice one. Good for you.

That's really funny, and only Peter would be the one to say it. Let the truth be known.

Eric said...

Peter...I resemble that remark!!!

Actually like Tim I drink very little now as I am usually the DD (Designated Dumbass or Designated Driver depending on who you ask)

Yes Debbie, how can one forget the party pad in the Hammocks!!! I think I even have pictures stashed away - Kara may even have some as well. We went through a stash of them about 7 or 8 months agoin Atlanta when I was visiting with her and Kelly and their familes.

CookieTea said...

Well, after reading the blog, I've come to the realization that I had a totally different impression of Peter!

Did it turn-out how I wanted or expected? I can say yes. I look forward to seeing you all. Wow, what memories.
Hey Peter? What band with a drinking problem are you talking bout??? LOL
Remember Fish asking Eileen to come to our room for a drink in Atlanta? Everytime I see him I STILL wanna choke him!
